With more than 800 million users, Facebook still seems to be the most powerful website for online marketing; it’s something that companies should not leave out of their marketing strategies. Here are a few tips that can help businesses that want to improve their Facebook strategy and build a successful marketing campaign with proven results.
The first thing to do is to create a Facebook profile and a fan page so that visitors would be able to ‘like’ your page, marketing expert Jimmy Morrow advised. You could lure users with a free trial, a free e-book or a coupon; this would raise fan conversion rates, while providing customers with something that they can value.
Try to solve a problem identified by your customers and include some additional information to trigger their interest and show your expertise, Morrow said.
Grab the users attention with discussions on business-related topics, but then change the topic regularly, otherwise you risk losing their interest. ‘Unliking’ a page is as easy as ‘liking’ it.
Since writing posts about just your business could prove challenging, you can try one of the following:
- Share a funny video; it does not necessarily need to be about your business, but could be something related.
- Write about an ongoing event in the area that could affect your customers.
- Ask users for help and invite them to post questions, videos or pictures about your business on your Facebook wall; this will encourage discussion, especially if you create a new topic to comment on.
- Don’t forget to include some pictures along with your updates; make sure that you crop the photos appropriately, as Facebook shows a only smaller version of your picture.
