Four New Features Added to Google+

A few weeks back, we received updates on how Google+ now supports real-time search and hash tags. Then there was the option for users to switch Blogger profiles to their Google+ account. Just recently, a couple more innovative improvements were added.

Four new features in four different areas have just been rolled out. See popular posts in the “What’s Hot” section, analytics tool called “Google+ Ripples”, photo editing kit for photos and probably the most awaited — accounts for Google Apps customers.

The What’s Hot section allows users to see the most popular posts throughout Google+. This feature is good for uncovering new information outside of your circles and a way of discovering interesting people which you can add directly to your existing Google social community.

There are two ways to access the popular contents, underneath your posts and a dedicated stream on the left sidebar.

The second update, Google+ Ripples, is the one I’m particularly interested in. You can watch how a publicly shared post went viral across the community. Watch it in action here.

Heads up for smart social media marketers out there. Imagine presenting this whole new report form to your clients. It would be very handy when telling them how successful a Google+ campaign was.

Any user can access Ripples, just look for any public post and select “View Ripples”.

Now what’s a social network for if not for sharing your beautiful photos and relieving memories.   Google has even made this feature more fun by implementing the Creative Kit which lets you do powerful edits to your pictures easily. No additional software required.

Lastly, good news for all Google Apps users! Google+ is now available to Apps customers worldwide.

With all these enhancements keep coming in, it seems like the Google+ team has plenty of surprises for us week by week. For more information about this update, visit http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/google-popular-posts-eye-catching.html
