Britons make most clicks when sharing events through social media, according to a new study by online ticketing firm Eventbrite.

Every time a user in Britain shares an Eventbrite event on Facebook, 22 of their contacts and friends open the link, according to the survey.

While having the lowest share rate, Irish people generate the highest revenues per share for the event company, the research found.

Each time someone shares an event on a social-networking site, they bring an average of £2.01 in additional ticket sales for that event.

On Facebook, the additional revenue is £2.32 per share in the UK, compared to £6.48 in Ireland, which tops the list. On Twitter, the extra revenue is £1.46 for users in the UK and £5.64 for Ireland.

While Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn have all grown internationally, the Eventbrite survey shows different levels of engagement when it comes to sharing events in different geographies.

On Facebook, revenues per share are highest in Ireland at £6.38, followed by Australia at £3.32.

In terms of value per tweets, Ireland, Canada and the Netherlands take the top three spots with revenues of £5.94, £1.85 and £1.51, respectively.

On LinkedIn, revenues per share are highest in France, which at £7.81 are nearly four times bigger than in Netherlands (£2.08) and Italy (£2.00).

In terms of directing traffic to websites, Twitter comes first as links shared through Twitter lead to 33 webpage visits per share, against 14 for Facebook and 10 for LinkedIn. However, Facebook drives the most revenue relative to other social platforms, Eventbrite said.
